LTO March operations resulted in almost 19k apprehensions of delinquent registration

In a proactive effort to enhance road safety, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) is urging motorists to renew their vehicle or motorcycle’s expired registrations immediately. The ongoing nationwide crackdown resulted in 18,882 tickets issued last month. Each ticket carries a PHP 10,000 penalty, which serves as a reminder of the consequences of non-compliance.

LTO Chief, Atty. Vigor Mendoza II emphasized that this operation aligns with Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon’s order to protect all road users.

“We have been making our presence felt on the roads across the country. And this will be more aggressive once our enforcers complete the refresher courses that we have been conducting,” said Mendoza. “So, we are appealing to our motorists to make sure that the registration of their motor vehicles are updated because once you are caught, you will surely shell out more money because you will have to pay the fines and penalties.”

Based on LTO data, motorcycles are the most with delinquent registration violations with 11,437, followed by tricycles with 3,315, vans with 2,056, and private vehicles with 1,059. LTO Region IV-CALABARZON still leads the campaign with the most apprehensions.
