Certificate of Registration again printed on LTO security paper

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has resolved the looming shortage of security paper being used in the printing of certificates of registration for motor vehicles.

LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II said they have started the preparation after monitoring the shortage of security paper as early as August this year.

“We immediately issued a guideline to answer the looming shortage of security paper. We are thankful that the problem didn’t get worse because of the delivery of the security paper we need,” said Mendoza.

The delivery was made on Thursday, Nov. 7, and Mendoza said the number of security papers is sufficient to cover motor vehicle registration and other transactions for the next few months. The LTO was forced to print the certificate of registration for some of its clients due to the shortage.

With the delivery, the LTO chief said he would issue another memorandum to schedule the printing of the bond-paper printed certificate of registration and other documents. The security paper is expected to be delivered to the LTO regional offices within this week.

Mendoza also said that LTO-Regional Directors have already been notified to prepare for the printing of those printed on bond paper, including the dissemination of information to their clients.
