2025 Aston Martin DBX S is the brand's newest flagship crossover SUV

Ever since Aston Martin debuted the DBX, there have been several versions of the brand's first-ever high-performance crossover SUV. From the humble DBX Straight Six that's powered by a 3.0L inline-six turbo to the fire-breathing DBX707, the Gaydon-based luxury brand knows a thing or two about making various versions of its flagship crossover SUV.

For 2025, however, Aston Martin decided to kick things up a notch with the release of the DBX S. Now serving as the flagship of the crossover lineup, the 2025 DBX S is more powerful, lighter, and inherits some features derived from the Valhalla supercar.

Starting with its hardware, the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine now generates 727 PS, which is 20 PS more than what the DBX707 makes. This was made possible after Aston Martin used turbo technology derived from the upcoming Valhalla supercar, which consists of a larger compressor wheel and other improved internals. Torque, meanwhile, is rated at 900 Nm, which is shared with the DBX707.

All of these translate to a 0 – 100 km/h sprint of 3.3 seconds and a 0 – 200 km/h sprint time that's 0.3 seconds faster than the DBX707. Top speed remains the same at 310 km/h. Just like the other DBX models, the DBX S comes with a 9-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission that's paired with a variable AWD system.

Complementing the more powerful twin-turbo V8 is a modified exhaust system. Not only does it further accentuate the engine's performance, but it also hypes up the vehicle's distinct exhaust note, especially when you're driving at the limit.

As mentioned earlier, Aston Martin also put the DBX S on a strict diet regimen. There's a new optional carbon fiber roof that features a single weave pattern and is by far the largest piece of carbon fiber fitted onto an Aston Martin. This piece alone drops the vehicle's curb weight by 18 kg and also lowers the vehicle's center of gravity for better on-road performance.

Also contributing to the DBX S' weight loss are the optional magnesium wheels. They measure 23 inches in diameter but save a further 19 kg of unsprung weight. This also translates to better and lighter steering, which is important for such a powerful vehicle like the DBX S. Other key lightweight features available include a polycarbonate honeycomb grille that features over 25,000 individual facets and a lighter steering rack. All in all, Aston Martin claims the DBX S is 47 kg lighter than the DBX707.

Style-wise, the DBX S features an all-black grille, along with a new splitter and diffuser for better aerodynamics and airflow. It also gets the distinctive “S” badge on the grille, distinct turned-up air splitters, vertically-stacked quad exhausts, and a redesigned rear bumper.

Hop inside and the DBX S welcomes you into a sporty and luxurious cabin. Perhaps serving as the most notable feature is the bespoke “S” theme in herringbone design. It comes standard on the seats and extends towards the headlining if the optional carbon fiber roof is specified. There's also generous use of Alcantara throughout the cabin, which can be seen on the seats, headlining, center console, and instrument panel.

To remind prospective customers they're in something special, the DBX S features the “S” suffix embroidered onto the seat and is complemented by the Aston Martin wings. The “S” logo also appears on the treadplates and engine plaque to round up the interior trimmings.

Those who plan to get their own Aston Martin DBX S can expect to pay a hefty premium over the already powerful DBX707.
