Isuzu PH officially reveals refreshed D-Max for 2024 model year
After giving the motoring public a taste of things to come, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has officially revealed the refreshed 2024 D-Max. Sporting a more aggressive look along with new & upgraded features, the updated pickup truck not only looks fresh but is bang-up-to-date against its closest rivals like the Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Mitsubishi Triton.
Starting with the most obvious, the D-Max gets a bold new look courtesy of a strong and aggressive front end. It gets a new three-dimension grille with a gunmetal & black chrome finish along with new eye-catching LED headlights and redesigned LED daytime running lights. Also present are restyled foglight bezels and an air curtain on the front bumper that delivers better aerodynamics.

Other exterior upgrades present include new 18-inch alloy wheels finished in a Matte Dark Gray Metallic finish, all-terrain tires, a cargo sail bed accessory, and new Triple-Wing LED taillights.

Hop inside and the 2024 D-Max features a more stylish and high-tech cabin. For starters, the door panels feature a new digital pattern called “Miura” that exudes a clean and solid structure. High-grade variants now come with a new wireless charging pad, a 7-inch digital multi-info display, and an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. Depending on the variant, the pickup can come with either a 10.1-inch screen or a slightly smaller 9-inch display.
Other available features include automatic climate control (manual airconditioning on lower variants), leather or fabric upholstery, rear A/C vents, rear charging ports, remote engine start, walk-away door lock, an 8-speaker/6-speaker sound system, satellite navigation, a 360-degree around-view monitor (AVM), a digital video recorder (AKA dashcam), blind-spot assist, and a clinometer.

Under the hood, the 2024 D-Max continues to be powered by the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX turbo-diesel inline-four. It generates 190 PS at 3600 rpm along with a healthy 450 Nm of pull at 1600 – 2600 rpm. Depending on the variant chosen, the D-Max can be paired with either a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 1.9-liter RZ4E turbo-diesel continues to be available as well for the LT and Single Cab variants. It makes 150 PS at 3600 rpm with 350 Nm of torque at 1800 – 2600 rpm and is mated only to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

4WD is still available in the 2024 D-Max although Isuzu has now equipped the LS-E and LS-A models with a rear locking differential for extra grip over rough terrain. The automaker even installed Rough Terrain Mode which maximizes on delivering traction in both 4x2 and 4x4 modes.
Along with the introduction of the new 2024 Isuzu D-MAX, IPC is introducing a new variant, the D-Max 4x2 LS-E AT. It gets the same level of features as the top-of-the-line 4x4 variant but is offered as a RWD model. It also gets the brand's suite of Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) which serves as the vehicle's smart driving aids for extra peace of mind.

Aside from the launch of the 2024 D-Max, Isuzu is also bringing back its famed 4x4 Action Playground, a specially designed test course aimed at showcasing the abilities of the refreshed pickup. The Action Playground is set to thrill with seven challenging stations including the Rough Terrain Roller, Articulated Ramps, Side Camber, Road Grinder, Chicane, Forward Collision Wall, and the crowd favorite Hydraulic Ramp. These stations are meticulously crafted to demonstrate the D-Max's prowess in handling off-road conditions while emphasizing its top-tier safety features.

Those curious to try out the 2024 D-Max can visit the Action Playground at the SM Mall of Asia from June 20 – 23, 2024. Afterward, the Action Playground will embark on a nationwide tour, stopping at SM Cebu Seaside from July 5-7 and SM Lanang Davao from July 26-28.
