After giving us a preview, will the MG Cyberster debut at MIAS 2024?

Last year just before the holidays, SAIC Motor Philippines Inc. gave us a glimpse of the red-hot MG Cyberster electric roadster. With it, MG has essentially signaled its intent to sell the all-electric droptop to the Philippine market. But how soon can we expect SAIC Motor PH to begin selling it?

Well, we may not need to wonder anymore as the MG Cyberster was recently spotted in the country. While it wasn't being driven on the road, a transport truck was sighted carrying the electric roadster along what appears to be the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

Just like the vehicle SAIC Motor PH showed us last December, the roadster being transported looks exactly the same. From the black fabric roof to the eye-catching red hue, as well as the stylish alloy wheels to the unmistakable LED taillights, the MG Cyberster is a looker in every direction.

Details about the PH-spec MG Cyberster are not yet available. However, the electric roadster could come with either a single electric motor or a dual motor setup. In top-spec trim, the MG Cyberster delivers a whopping 544 PS and an impressive 725 Nm of torque. This allows the droptop to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. On a full charge, the MG Cyberster's 77 kWh battery pack allows it to travel up to 520 km.

When paired with just a single electric motor, the MG Cyberster still comes with an admirable 313 PS although no torque figure was mentioned. In addition, it can cover more ground as it's rated to travel up to 580 km on a fully charged battery.

With the MG Cyberster already spotted being transported on PH roads, perhaps we might get to see it at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Since we're only several weeks away from April, it stands to reason that SAIC Motor PH has chosen the annual auto show to hold the grand debut of the electric two-seater.

We'll be keeping our fingers crossed that the MG Cyberster will be just one of the many vehicles that the company will reveal at this year's MIAS.
