Chery Auto Philippines will be at this year's MIAS with a trio of vehicles

Remember when Chery Auto Philippines distributor United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) previewed a trio of vehicles at the 2023 Philippine EV Summit? Making their presence felt at last year's EV auto show were the eQ1 mini EV, the eQ7 electric crossover, and the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV.

Not only did the automaker give us a glimpse of what to expect, but they essentially showed the Philippine market that they are ready to deliver zero-emissions vehicles to the public. And now, it looks like Chery Auto Philippines is set to officially launch several of its New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) they initially previewed.

Recently, the company released a teaser of what they will be revealing at this year's Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Despite the shadowy appearances, we already have a good idea of what to expect based on their silhouettes and front fascias.

Starting with the one in the middle, it seems Chery will finally be launching the eQ7. Despite resembling the Jetour Dashing (Jetour is part of the Chery Auto Group), this crossover comes with a dedicated platform for electric vehicles. It's powered by a rear electric motor that delivers 211 PS with 285 Nm of torque and is paired with a 67.12 kWh battery pack which gives it a range of around 512 km. In terms of size, the eQ7 measures 4675mm long, 1910mm wide, 1660mm tall, and has a 2380mm wheelbase.

Moving to the right, the other mystery vehicle seems to be the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV. Also previewed at last year's PH EV Summit, the electrified crossover is essentially the plug-in hybrid variant of the Tiggo 7 Pro and gets some unique changes. At the heart of it is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that's assisted by a pair of electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. The result is a combined system output of 326 PS with 545 Nm of torque and an electric range of around 80 km.

Last but not least, the mystery vehicle on the left looks like the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ PHEV. Chery Auto Philippines has been selling this particular crossover SUV for quite some time now. However, the automaker could introduce some new features and updates to the three-row plug-in hybrid vehicle. As before, it will likely still come with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo that gets a helping hand from two electric motors and a battery pack. Like the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV, this one also makes a meaty 326 PS and a healthy 545 Nm of pull.

With MIAS 2024 all set from April 4 to 7, we will be keeping a close eye on the possible launches. As far as pricing is concerned, a well-placed source told us last year that the eQ7 could retail for around PHP 2.4 million while the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV may be priced at around PHP 2.1 million. The Tiggo 8 Pro e+ PHEV currently retails for PHP 2.698 million although we won't be surprised if its sticker price will go up should Chery introduce new features or changes.
