HF Integrale nameplate to return in Lancia

Another '90s rally legend is having its comeback soon.

While Toyota’s only an official statement away from confirming the return of the Celica, its arch rival from Italy, the Lancia Delta HF Integrale, has been confirmed for 2026.

In a release announcing the Rally6 version of the Ypsilon HF Racing, Lancia mentioned the return of the HF, or the “High Fidelity” label for the brand’s high-performance cars within the new lineup. The HF saw its return in the Ypsilon, but soon it will appear in the upcoming Gamma and Delta with the HF Integrale label.

The Lancia Delta Integrale achieved 46 victories during its WRC heyday in the Group A era of rallying. Piloted by drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Miki Biasion, and Didier Auriol, the car brought Lancia six consecutive WRC Constructors' Championships from 1987 to 1992, cementing its place as an icon in the world of rallying.

The last homologation special of the Delta hatchback was the HF Integrale Evo that featured wide fenders, a 2.0-liter turbo with 210 PS, and all-wheel drive back in 1992. But for the new Delta HF Integrale for 2026, reports say it could be underpinned by the Stellantis CMP platform that accommodates both ICE and electric powertrains.

Currently, Lancia’s most potent CMP platform car is the Ypsilon HF that uses a 280 PS electric motor shared with the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce and the Peugeot E-208 GTi, so we won’t be surprised if the new Delta HF Integrale also gets this powertrain.

Without a doubt, the new Delta HF Integrale will have big shoes to fill, considering the legacy of its predecessor. Hopefully, Lancia recaptures that with the new one.
