Kia to hold the official PH launch of EV9 next week
With only one week left before the opening of the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), more automakers continue to reveal teasers about their upcoming vehicle launches. Kia Philippines distributor ACMobility is no exception as they recently revealed a teaser of what they'll be launching at the biennial motor show.
Based on the teaser photo they released, we already know what they will be revealing next week. After making its global debut at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show, the Kia EV9 flagship EV will be making its official debut at PIMS 2024.

As confirmed to us a few months ago by an insider, the Kia EV9 will be the latest EV from the Korean automaker and will complement the EV6. In addition, our insider also shared with us that the initial units for the Philippine market have all been spoken for which means those who plan to get one in the future might have to wait for a little while longer.
No exact specifications have been revealed yet by Kia Philippines. But based on what international markets get, the EV9 will likely be offered with various powertrain options. The base RWD Standard gets a 76.1 kWh battery and is paired with a single electric motor that puts out 215 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Next is the RWD Long Range which comes with a bigger 99.8 kWh battery and a single electric motor.

At the top of the EV9 range is the AWD version which gets a pair of electric motors that put out a combined 380 PS with 600 Nm of pull. This one also comes with a 99.8 kWh battery pack and can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. As far as range is concerned, the Kia EV9 has an estimated range between 400 to 500 km, depending on the battery and drivetrain setup.
With the Kia EV9 set to make its official debut soon, it will be interesting to see Kia's flagship EV in the metal.
