OJPH to reveal J5 HEV at the World Trade Center Manila on April 9
After confirming its eventual arrival and being recognized by the Department of Energy (DOE) as a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), the Omoda J5 HEV is ready to make its official debut at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show.
Omoda & Jaecoo Motor Philippines Inc. (OJPH) confirmed this after announcing on social media that they will be revealing the J5 HEV at this year's MIAS. It will serve as the brand's latest compact crossover SUV and will be coding-exempt, thanks to its electrified powertrain.

Based on the initial specifications the automaker has revealed, the Jaecoo J5 HEV will have a combined system output of 221 PS with 295 Nm of torque and is capable of averaging 5.3L per 100 km (or 18.8 km/L). This gives the J5 HEV a range of over 1,000 km, which means fewer trips to the pumps, especially given the high fuel prices as of late.
The J5 HEV will also have a four-link independent rear suspension, which OJPH claims translates to a smoother and more stable ride compared to typical entry-level crossover SUVs. Design-wise, the J5 HEV features a “Baby Land Rover”-inspired aesthetic, along with a pet-friendly interior made of anti-bacterial and scratch-resistant materials.

Additional information about the J5 HEV has yet to be revealed. But according to what the DOE has released so far, the J5 HEV will reportedly be available in three variants: Comfort, Luxury, and Premium. It will also be available with various amenities, including a 360-degree camera, a tablet-like infotainment display, a panoramic sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a host of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Check out the Jaecoo J5 HEV at the upcoming MIAS 2026, which will be held at the World Trade Center Manila, starting on April 9.
