Hyundai Palisade Hybrid appears on DOE’s recognized list of HEVs

All-new Hyundai Palisade to get turbo-hybrid setup in PH market

Earlier this week, we received information that Hyundai Motor Philippines got the approval to bring an upcoming passenger car that’s powered by a 2497cc gasoline engine. Based on the engine size and its recent arrival in Southeast Asia by way of Indonesia, it looks like the automaker is looking to launch the all-new Palisade.

At the time, we were not yet sure if the next-generation Palisade would be available with just a turbocharged engine or with the turbo-hybrid setup. But thanks to the new information we received today, it looks like it will just be a 2.5L turbo-hybrid version.

This comes after the Hyundai Palisade Turbo Hybrid appeared on the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of newly recognized HEVs (hybrid electric vehicles). More importantly, it’s listed as a 2025 model year, so perhaps it’s only a matter of time before it becomes available from HMPH. However, several gray market importers have reportedly started offering the vehicle in the country. 

Back to the Palisade Hybrid itself, the electrified three-row SUV comes with a battery capacity of 1.65 kWh, which coincides with what the model gets in other countries. The listing also states that the Palisade Hybrid’s engine makes 258 PS on its own.

But with the hybrid system in play, it makes a combined 334 PS, which is what other countries like Indonesia get. Size-wise, the Palisade Hybrid measures over 5060mm long, 1980mm wide, and 1800mm tall.

With the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid now on the DOE’s list of recognized HEVs, it looks like we already know what HMPH plans to launch soon. The only question remaining is whether we can expect it to debut in just a few months.
