EasyTrip Services Corporation says personal account info of its subscribers may have been exposed
Heads up to motorists with EasyTrip RFID accounts. EasyTrip Services Corporation (ESC) together with Metro Pacific Tollways Company (MPTC) recently announced that subscribers' personal account information may have been involved in a limited data breach that happened last September 7, 2024.
The data breach was done via an unauthorized use of access in their testing environment. The company assured, however, that the affected system has been contained and the RFID balance of its subscribers remains intact and secure.
Unfortunately, the EasyTrip account information such as account number, plate number, mobile number, and email address may have been exposed. With this, the company is strongly recommending to its subscribers to reset their passwords as soon as possible to further secure account information.
The company has lines open for customer concerns related to account information security. These include a hotline at 1-35000 or via email at customercare@mptc.com.ph or escdataprivacyffice@easytripnet.ph.
