GWM Haval H9 Pilot gets LTO homologation papers
Last week, GWM Philippines put 4x4 SUV buyers on notice with the launch of the 2026 Haval H9 SUV. With a boxy body, a ladder frame platform, a premium-like interior, and most importantly, a turbodiesel under the hood, the icing on the cake is that you get all that for under 2 million pesos.
But wait, we think there’s more to come from GWM and the Haval H9. The Land Transportation Office has released the homologation documents of another variant of the SUV. GWM launched the Lux version last week, but the Pilot version could be in the pipeline soon.

Based on how GWM names its variant offerings in the country with the Cannon, the Pilot variant usually has a shorter feature list than the Lux. But that also equates to a lower price tag. Looking at the homologation documents of the Haval H9 Pilot, it does look like GWM would be following the same pattern.
It still features the 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine and the 9-speed automatic transmission, but the Pilot version has a tire size of 245/70R17, which basically means it will have smaller wheels than the Lux that has 18s.
The good thing, however, is that the model name still has the AWD written on it, so you get the same off-road capability as the Lux at (presumably) even lower price tags.
Considering how popular the 4x4 SUV segment is in the country, we would not be surprised if the H9 becomes a more frequent sight on our roads (and at the trails) as the year progresses.
