The GWM Haval Raptor Hi4 will have an electrified 1.5L engine in PH
During last year's Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), GWM Philippines distributor Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc. (LAGI) previewed several vehicles. These included the M6 crossover, the Wey Gaoshan PHEV MPV, and the Menglong PHEV crossover.
At the time, GWM Philippines did not give a timeline as to when they would launch the previewed vehicles. However, it looks like the automaker is making progress, particularly for the Menglong. Recently, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released new homologation documents for a new plug-in hybrid crossover from GWM.

That vehicle is called the Raptor Hi4 which is the international name of the Menglong PHEV. In the Philippine market, the Raptor Hi4 will be powered by a 1499cc (or 1.5L) gasoline engine and will be assisted by an electric motor along with a lithium-iron phosphate battery pack. Size-wise, the Raptor Hi4 PHEV will measure 4800mm long, 1916mm wide, 1822mm tall, and will have a 2738mm wheelbase. It will also have massive 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/60 tires.
Official powertrain specifications for the Philippine market have yet to be revealed. But based on what the PRC gets, the PH-spec Raptor Hi4 could have a total system output of 373 PS and 750 Nm of torque from its electrified 1.5L turbocharged engine. Meanwhile, its 19.09 kWh battery pack will give it an electric range of up to 102 km.

With the GWM Raptor Hi4 already listed in LTO's homologation papers, perhaps it might not be long before GWM Philippines reveals it. Perhaps we might see it in the metal at this year's MIAS for its official launch. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info regarding the plug-in hybrid crossover.
