These are GWM’s upcoming models
GWM Philippines is finally putting the much-awaited Ora 03 EV on sale with its launch at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show. But wait, the brand is also giving us a first look at the models that will soon join its lineup in the country.
Say hello to GWM Philippines’ upcoming models – the Haval M6 crossover, the Haval Menglong Hi4 PHEV SUV, and the Wey Gaoshan Hi4 PHEV MPV.
Starting with the Haval M6, this crossover measures 4664 mm long, 1830 mm wide, and 1729 mm tall with a 2680 mm wheelbase. From its dimensions, the M6 is bigger than the existing Jolion crossover of GWM. But from a model standpoint, the M6 is looking to be positioned as the brand’s entry-level offering in the crossover segment.

Powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbo, the Haval M6’s front-wheel-drive powertrain puts out 150 PS and 210 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
While exact pricing is still being determined by GWM distributor Luxuriant Automotive Group Inc., a reliable source has told AutoIndustriya.com that it will be a sub-PHP 1 million crossover, and will be priced somewhere around the PHP 850-900k range.
This gives the GWM Haval M6 an advantage with its size and powertrain, as other crossovers in the sub 1 million peso club include much smaller vehicles with naturally aspirated engines such as the Toyota Raize, the Chery Tiggo 2, Geely GX3 Pro, and the recently launched Changan CS15.

Furthermore, the Haval M6 also has an edge in terms of riding comfort and stopping power. The Haval M6 features a multi-link, double wishbone rear suspension, and disc brakes on all four wheels instead of its competitors which have a torsion beam setup with drum brakes at the rear.
Elsewhere, the Haval M6 comes with LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, and functional roof rails on the exterior while interior features include leather seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with four speakers, single-zone climate control, and keyless entry.

The Haval Menglong Hi4 PHEV, on the other hand, is GWM’s go-anywhere SUV challenger to the recently launched Jetour T2. But unlike the latter, the Menglong Hi4 PHEV benefits from the combined power of an ICE and an electric motor.

Putting out 373 PS and 750 Nm of torque, the Hi4 system on the Menglong does dynamic switching and intelligent energy management system of 3 engines and 9 modes to achieve optimal efficiency in all operating conditions and worry-free driving in all scenarios.

Inside, the Haval Menglong features dual screens for its dashboard, with power front seats and lots of leather inside. While GWM did not reveal much in terms of interior details, we won't be surprised if this also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Menglong’s 19.09 kWh battery gives the SUV up to 102 km of all-electric range using the NEDC cycle.

The same Hi4 four-wheel-drive hybrid technology is also found on GWM’s luxury MPV, the Wey Gaoshan.

This is Great Wall’s answer to the likes of the GAC M8 and the Toyota Alphard. GWM previewed the Wey Gaoshan in its 7-seater configuration, complete with massage chairs and power functions all over the cabin of the luxury MPV.

The Wey Gaoshan’s powertrain is also a plug-in hybrid unit, as it comes in a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired to two electric motors, putting out a combined system output of 480 PS and a whopping 762 Nm of torque. Its 39.48 kWh battery gives the Wey Gaoshan PHEV an all-electric range of 140 km using the WLTC cycle.

GWM has the Wey Gaoshan PHEV, Haval Menglong PHEV, and Haval M6 crossover on display at the WTC venue of the 2024 Manila International Auto Show from April 4 to 7.
