Kia's sixth dedicated EV model revealed as the EV2

After showing a concept version of its latest EV last year, Kia has arrived at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show with the production version of the all-new EV2.

Serving as Kia's sixth dedicated EV model, the EV2 is the brand's new electric B-SUV that's compact in size but comes with plenty of space and more than enough range, complete with vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.

“With the Kia EV2, we are expanding the reach of Kia’s electric mobility to customers who want a compact car that still feels spacious, capable, and emotionally rewarding. EV2 reflects our commitment to practical innovation, bringing advanced EV technology, thoughtful design, and everyday usability into a model created for the way people live and move in cities around the world,” said Ho Sung Song, president & CEO of Kia.

Like the concept from which it gets the same name, the EV2 features a compact SUV design that's both stylish and funky. It gets the brand's signature Opposites United design language that's highlighted by Kia's latest Star Map signature lighting. The result is a sleek and eye-catching design that also features pronounced wheel arches and confident proportions.

Also worth mentioning are the signature LED headlights and daytime running lights, which, combined with the flared wheel arches and boxy design, make it look like the EV2 is a pint-sized version of the EV9 flagship. It also has sculpted surfaces throughout that highlight its unique exterior, distinct alloy wheels, and LED taillights placed on the outer edges of the rear.

Size-wise, the EV2 measures 4060mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1575mm tall. It also has a 2565mm wheelbase and generous ground clearance, although Kia did not state its exact measurements.

Those who want something with a bit more edge can also get the EV2 GT-Line, which further enhances the character lines and lifestyle-focused design. It gets exclusive front & rear bumpers, body-colored garnishes, and unique alloy wheels that give the EV2 a more premium and adventurous look.

Hop inside, and the EV2 welcomes you into a spacious cabin that's defined by the idea of a “Picnic Box”. The result is a cozy interior thanks to a wraparound dashboard & crash pad that seamlessly integrates the panoramic wide display. The display consists of a 5-inch climate control panel, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display.

Also present are LED ambient lighting that adds a warm ambiance, horizontal design elements that add visual width and openness, and fabric-rich materials that boost tactile comfort. Other in-car amenities in the EV2 include adjustable cupholders, a wireless charging pad, large storage bins, a Kia AI Assistant, wireless over-the-air updates, a Harman/Kardon sound system, a 100W USB-C charging port, and physical controls that were designed to reduce driver distraction.

When it comes to luggage space, Kia says the EV2 can carry up to 403 liters of cargo with the four-seater variant complete with sliding and reclining rear seats. In the standard five-seater version, the EV2 can carry up to 362 liters of luggage.

The EV2 is available with two battery options: 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh. The former delivers up to 318 km of range while the latter gives the EV2 up to 448 km of range, both using the WLTP cycle. Both battery packs also support fast DC charging, as they can be recharged from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes. Both batteries also support standard 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging.

Strangely, Kia has yet to reveal the electric motor/s of the EV2 but they did say it supports V2L. This means it can power exterior devices and appliances with ease, which is useful during blackouts.

Production of the EV2 will begin in Q1 2026 with the standard range model. Meanwhile, the long-range and GT-Line variants will follow later in the year. The official market launch will be announced closer to the start of sales. We're keeping our hopes up that the Kia EV2 will eventually be offered in the Philippines.
