Production model to come out in 2026
Most automakers are already pulling back their plans to introduce fully electric vehicles to their lineup. But with Kia being the first few to get to grips with EVs, they are pressing forward in completing a comprehensive product line of battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Making its debut at the Kia EV day is the EV2 Concept, which gives a glimpse of Kia’s entry into the B-segment electric crossover market. Featuring a boxy silhouette and the size of a hatchback, the funky EV could be Kia’s most affordable electric model when it comes out in 2026.

Size-wise, it could very much compete with the likes of the e Vitara that’s currently being offered in Europe. In terms of looks, the EV2 Concept features the latest in Kia’s Opposites United design language. The claw-like headlamps and low-mounted taillights give it a unique appeal and blend along nicely with plastic claddings that are almost standard issue to any crossover.

Inside, the EV2 Concept has a few nice tricks up its sleeve that we hope will make it to production. Among those include the ability to fold the rear seats up to make room for the front seats that slide back on rails, and pop-up sliding luggage dividers to maximize cargo space.
Kia was very minimal in giving details and even interior features of the EV2 Concept, but we should expect dual screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, and physical knobs for adjusting climate control functions.

The Kia EV2 is expected to launch in Europe and other regions by 2026.
