Daihatsu dresses up the Rocky for the road less traveled in new concept

It's no secret the Toyota Raize (AKA Daihatsu Rocky) has become a popular choice for those looking at a budget crossover. Not only does it look stylish despite its affordable price but it's available with a plethora of features and is available with either a 1.0L turbocharged three-cylinder or a 1.2L naturally-aspirated inline-three.

The crossover has also become popular with enthusiasts who dress up and customize the Raize with various body kits, alloy wheels, paint finishes, and accessories. Given the vehicle's stylish looks and appeal, it's no wonder buyers have taken to customizing the affordable but stylish crossover SUV.

Over in Indonesia at this year's Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, Daihatsu revealed the Rocky Crossfield concept which looks ready to take on the great outdoors with ease. The concept further highlights the customizability of the Rocky/Raize crossovers, particularly for those who want to dress up the Raize as an off-roader.

Immediately grabbing our attention are the large all-terrain tires shod in black 16-inch alloy wheels which give the vehicle better ground clearance. It also comes with black wheel arch moldings, a blacked-out grille cover, and unpainted bumpers which highlight the concept's off-road going nature.

Other neat features present in the Rocky Crossfield concept are the namesake decals, yellow foglights, a roof rack, an LED light bar, and a retractable awning for those who wish to take the vehicle to campsites.

Under the hood, the concept is only powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine which makes a humble 86 PS and 105 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the front wheels via a CVT.

While this particular example is only a concept, it will surely give customers and tuning shops several new ideas to customize the Toyota Raize/Daihatsu Rocky. Perhaps all it needs now is an all-wheel drive or 4WD system to give it the ability to go off the beaten path.
