Lepas showcases its initial lineup of SUVs
Most automakers are out to offer a model for every existing vehicle segment, but Chery aims to do one better – they want cater to differing needs of customers. And thus, they’ve adopted a multi-brand strategy by establishing many car brands for different purposes.
Apart from the main Chery brand, they’ve got iCar for electric SUVs, Omoda/Jaecoo for export markets, Exeed for premium vehicles, and now they have the new Lepas brand that’s aimed for the younger generation seeking premium mobility.

The first model was recently revealed and was called the L8. But at the 2025 Chery International Business Summit in Wuhu, China, we were able to get a first look at two more models – the L4 and L6 crossover SUVs joining the L8 for the initial vehicle lineup of Lepas.

Much like the L8, the L4 and L6 crossovers are based on a leopard aesthetic with its soft curves and sleek styling. The three models share identical front fascias with the “leopard eyes” that form the brand’s signature identity, along with the full-width LED light bar treatment at the rear.

Even the exterior colors of the Lepas crossovers were inspired by nature, as they come in Norwegian Forest Green for the L8, Canada Maple Yellow for the L6, and Scotch Grass Green for the L4.

While the L8 serves as the largest crossover in the lineup, the L4 looks to be similarly sized as the Mitsubishi XForce and could be aimed to compete in the B-segment crossover market. The L6, on the other hand, is closer in size to likes of the Changan Nevo Q05, Ford Territory, and could be sharing its bits with the Chery Tiggo 7.

The L4, L6, and L8 crossovers will also follow a single design DNA for their cabin. In particular, the center console adopts a portrait-style touchscreen that “flows” through the center console like a waterfall. In terms of the interior configuration, all the Lepas crossovers will have fold-flat seats and split folding function to maximize both passenger and cargo versatility.

Lepas says the three crossovers are underpinned by a modular platform that seamlessly integrates various powertrains, including conventional ICE, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric. The L8 shown in the brand global launch featured a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Chery aims to roll out the Lepas brand in 89 global markets as early as 2027 with over 1200 outlets worldwide. With that being the case, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Lepas brand makes its way to the Philippine market within the next two years.
