BT-50 4x4 Pangolin now a standard model
After teasing about the pickup truck in the past few weeks, it’s officially official – Mazda Philippines has launched the new BT-50 to the market.
With a bolder design and a longer list of standard features, the Mazda BT-50 has been given significant enhancements both inside and out to boost the appeal of the pickup truck as a vehicle for both lifestyle and utility.

The changes begin at the new front fascia that progresses Mazda’s signature KODO – Soul of Motion design. The new Black Metallic Signature Wing grille features hexagonal inserts, and are flanked by new standard LED headlights with adjustable leveling control to provide optimal visibility even with the pickup bed fully loaded.
The front bumper has been reprofiled as the daytime running lights move from the fog lamp cluster to the headlamps. In its place are new integrated air vents that work with the new air curtain underneath the front bumper to improve aerodynamics and fuel efficiency. Topping off the changes in front is a skid plate to add more toughness and protect the pickup truck’s underpinnings when going off-road.

Only subtle changes were done at the back of the BT-50, but Mazda focused more on making loading cargo easier as they fitted the pickup truck with Tailgate Assist. The new LED taillights have an emergency stop signal function and a bigger Mazda logo was fitted to complete the new look.
For the refreshed model, Mazda Philippines has made the Pangolin edition a standard model for the 4x4 version. That means the four-wheel drive variants is now exclusively available with a Brilliant Black Fashion Bar with Pangolin badges, roof rails, two-tone fender flares, a revolver cargo bed cover, and 18-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels with All-Terrain tires.

Inside, Mazda Philippines chose different color schemes for the interior of the 4x2 and 4x4 variants of the new BT-50. The 4x2 gets Black and Terracotta leather seats with leganu suede inserts that match with the black leather steering wheel and front center armrest with terracotta stitching, and terracotta door armrests.
On the other hand, the 4x4 Pangolin gets an all-black interior with an 8-way power seat adjustment for the driver. As an added touch, all variants of the new BT-50 now come with all-weather TPO floor mats.

The tech updates to the interior include a new 9-inch Human Machine Interface (HMI) system with a new 360-degree camera, a built-in clinometer that displays pitch and roll of the truck at real-time, and standard wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. For the 4x4 Pangolin, there’s also a bigger 7-inch LCD meter cluster with user customizable information for the driver.
Powering both the 4x2 and 4x4 variants of the BT-50 is a 3.0-liter, DOHC four-cylinder turbodiesel shared with the Isuzu D-Max. The engine puts out 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. The 4x4 Pangolin gets a new Rough Terrain Mode that works with the shift-on-the-fly 4x4 system and the electronic rear differential lock for better capability on the beaten path.

Lastly, the 4x4 Pangolin gets new stereo cameras with a wider field of view that enhances the ability of the pickup truck’s suite of advanced driver assistance systems or ADAS. Added functions include Pedal Misapplication Mitigation, Rear Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Brake, Multi-Collision Brake, and Driver Attention Assist.
The new Mazda BT-50 is offered in six exterior colors, both of which are available on both variants. Three all-new colors—Red Earth Metallic, Sailing Blue Metallic, and Geode White Pearl—are introduced for 2025, while three colors—Ingot Silver Metallic, Concrete Gray Mica, and True Black Mica—are carried over from the current BT-50.
