Denza previews the B3 electric SUV for Southeast Asia
BYD's premium brand Denza surely made its presence felt in the Philippines after officially launching the D9 plug-in hybrid luxury MPV. In the future, the brand will also launch the B5 and B8 frame-based PHEV SUVs to take on the likes of the Lexus GX & LX SUVs.
Over in Thailand at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, Denza has just previewed the B3, and it could sway buyers who want a Toyota RAV4 or Lexus NX-sized SUV but with an electric powertrain.

Beginning with its looks, the Denza B3 (AKA Fangchengbao Tai 3) has a sleek and muscular exterior that's highlighted by the prominent wheel arches and curves. Combined with generous black body cladding, aggressive bumpers, prominent fenders, and eye-catching LED headlights & taillights, the B3 is a looker from every direction.
It also comes with two-tone alloy wheels that give the B3 plenty of ground clearance and ride height, flush door handles that pop out when unlocked, a rear utility box to hold additional cargo, sleek wraparound LED taillights, and a boxy roofline.

Size-wise, the Denza B3 measures 4605mm long, 1900mm wide, 1720mm tall, and has a 2745mm wheelbase.
Climb inside, and the B3 greets occupants with a jet fighter-inspired dashboard. Despite having a tablet-like touchscreen at the center, the Denza B3 still comes with toggle switches and buttons on the center console for easy access to certain vehicle functions. Other key features present inside the B3 include LED ambient lighting, dual wireless charging pads, full leather upholstery with contrast stitching, a digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control, cup holders that can heat or cool beverages, and a suite of intelligent driver aids that's part of the God's Eye system.

In its home market, the Denza B3 is available with three battery options: 65.28 kWh, 72.96 kWh, and 78.72 kWh. This gives the electric SUV a range of up to 501 km based on the CLTC cycle and powers either a single rear electric motor or a dual-motor system. The former delivers 218 PS and allows the B3 to go from 0 – 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the latter puts out 421 PS and can catapult the B3 to 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.9 seconds.

Since Denza brought the B3 to the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show, does this mean other ASEAN countries in the region, like the Philippines, will eventually get it? Let us know in the comments if you think the B3 would make sense in the country.
