Avoid these Manila roads during Traslacion
Traslacion 2025 route announced
On Thursday, January 9, the Traslacion – the Procession of the Jesus Nazareno – will proceed through its traditional route, along with the millions of its devotees. This annual procession will start at dawn in Quirino Grandstand, near Luneta, and will pass through several streets before concluding at Quiapo Church.
According to authorities, the 2025 Traslacion will start at Quirino Grandstand, will turn right at Katigbak, and then will go straight to Padre Burgos until it reaches Ayala Boulevard. From there, the procession will turn right to Ayala Bridge, then will make a left at Carlos Palanca, right to Quezon Boulevard, and then right to Arlegui St.
From there, it will turn right on Fraternal before turning right again on Vergara. The procession will then turn left once it reaches Duque de Alba, left again on Castillejos and Farnecio streets.
The procession will turn right again to Arlegui, then left to Nepomuceno, left to Concepcion Aguila, then right to Carcer, right to Hidalgo through Plaza del Carmen, left to Bilibid Viejo (through Gil Puyat), left to JP de Guzman, then right to Hidalgo, left to Quezon Boulevard, right to Carlos Palanca under Quezon Bridge, right to Villalobos then finally to Quiapo Church.
The total procession length is more or less 6 kilometers and will happen all day.
Alternate routes
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), for vehicles coming from the south (Roxas Boulevard and Taft Avenue), take United Nations Avenue, straight to Nagtahan Otis, left at Mabini Bridge towards Magsaysay Boulevard and Lacson Avenue to destination, and vice versa.
For vehicles coming from the north ( Malabon-Navotas and Port area), take Anda Circle then take Soriano Avenue (Intramuros), and Magallanes Drive towards Chinatown.
For trucks going to North Harbor, from SLEX go straight ahead to Osmeña Hi-way then right turn to Quirino Avenue, straight to Nagtahan St., going to Lacson Avenue, left turn to Yuseco St., and straight ahead to Capulong St. Right turn or turn left to R-10 road to destination.
Meanwhile, trucks coming from the Parañaque Area may turn right at Quirino Avenue to Nagtahan then Lacson Ave. to destination. The same route may be utilized by trucks going south.
