Audi A2 e-tron to have world premiere by Q3 2026

Audi is making a new entry-level EV, and it is bringing back a familiar name for it.

The Ingolstadt-based manufacturer has announced they will be launching the A2 e-tron by Q3 2026. The upcoming EV is set to indirectly replace the A1 hatchback and the Q2 crossover, and will likely share its bits with the Volkswagen ID.3 Neo.

Much like the last A2, the new e-tron model was teased with an MPV-ish silhouette on its first design sketch, and could likely have a ground clearance similar to a crossover. Last year, a camouflaged model of what looks like the A2 e-tron was actually spied being tested at the Nurburgring.

Audi says they are targeting a broad international customer base that values everyday usability in the city, sustainability, high efficiency, and digital connectivity with the A2. Production of the entry-level EV will be done in Ingolstadt, making it a true “made in Germany” product.

“We’ve listened. Our customers want electric mobility that impresses in everyday life. The A2 e-tron is our promise to deliver exactly that – efficient, compact, and confident. We’re making entry into the electric Audi world easier and more relevant than ever,” said CEO Gernot Döllner.
