Aston claims 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds

The last time a Vantage S came out of Gaydon, it had a V12 and a manual transmission option. Heck, we even managed to drive one and make a review.

Now it’s back. And despite getting for fewer cylinders and one less pedal, Aston Martin has cranked up the performance for the hotter version of its most accessible coupe in the lineup.

Aston Martin has announced the new Vantage S, and the word of the day is “tweaked”. The coupe is further dialed in to deliver more power, better handling, better precision, better refinement, and a step up in driving experience from the standard V8 Vantage.

Speaking of which, Aston Martin’s AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 now puts out 680 PS and 800 Nm of torque in the Vantage S. Calibration changes were done to the powertrain improve throttle response and its darting ability for the holeshot, resulting in a 0.1 second improvement in its 0 to 100 km/h time clocking in at 3.3 seconds. Top speed remains the same at 325 km/h.

Aston Martin also claims detail changes were done to the suspension hardware, powertrain mounts, and control software, which all points out to the Vantage S getting more front end bite, better steering feel, better low speed ride and more stability in corner exits and in a straight line.

As for the exterior, the Vantage silhouette is still very much recognizable in the hotter S version, but the latter does receive the so-called bonnet blades on its hood to better extract air from the engine bay. Apart from that, there’s an S fender badge, red accents, a larger spoiler that adds 44 kg of downforce, and bespoke 21-inch wheels among its disctint design elements on the outside. Further updates to the underbody gives the Vantage S more downforce for higher cornering speeds.

Inside, there’s more Alcantara trims and carbon fiber elements to show that it’s indeed a hotter Vantage. There are embroidered S logos on the seats, and as part of Aston Martin’s personalization options, there’s model-specific embroidery and a choice of red or silver anodised finish to the knurled metal drive mode rotary gear selector.

The Aston Martin Vantage S will get its first action at the famous Goodwood hillclimb, where it will make its debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Aston Martin also says they are now taking orders with customer deliveries expected to begin in Q4 2025.
