The next-generation Toyota Hilux Travo has reportedly been spotted in Thailand
It appears it might not be long before Toyota officially unveils its next-generation midsize pickup truck. After filing a trademark for the Hilux Travo name in Thailand, the Japanese automaker has supposedly been spotted testing what looks to be the all-new Hilux Travo.
Spotted by a netizen over in The Land of Smiles, the camouflaged pickup has its front fascia covered as well as its tailgate. But despite the brand’s efforts to hide its appearance, it’s quite apparent that the pickup truck is from Toyota.
Based on the photos, the next-generation Hilux will feature a redesigned front end that will see the pickup get a more dynamic-looking front end. Looking beyond the camo livery, the Hilux Travo will get a new pair of LED headlights, a more stylish grille, and what looks to be a bolder-looking front bumper.
The pickup truck could also get more defined wheel arches which will give it a more prominent appearance. We have yet to see pictures of the rear although we won’t be surprised if Toyota will also introduce changes to the tailgate and taillights.

Other details regarding the Hilux Travo remain a mystery. However, the next-generation pickup could get upgraded versions of the 1GD-FTV (2.8L) and the 2GD-FTV (2.4L) turbo-diesel engines. In addition, an improved mild-hybrid variant could also be introduced with a bigger battery pack for improved emission standards.
The chassis, meanwhile, could be refined to deliver better on-road manners while also having better cargo-carrying capacity. Last but not least, the interior could also get a makeover to bring it up to standard with other pickup trucks.
The all-new Toyota Hilux is expected to make its global debut in Thailand later this year, perhaps around the second half of 2025. Since the current generation pickup is already about a decade old, it’s not surprising that Toyota has perhaps decided to replace it with a full model change. Fingers crossed we won’t have to wait that long for the big reveal.
