All-new 2025 Jeep Compass revealed with hybrid, EV powertrains
Third generation Jeep Compass combines 4x4 ruggedness with sleek modern styling
It's been nearly a decade since Jeep revealed the second-generation Compass. In fact, Jeep Philippines used to offer it in the country several years ago. Unfortunately, the compact crossover was discontinued for the Philippine market when the Jeep-GAC joint venture in China was terminated before eventually going bankrupt.
Fast forward several years, Jeep has officially revealed the all-new third-generation Compass, and boy, was the automaker busy. Not only was Jeep busy giving it a sleeker and more dynamic appearance, but it's also available with a wide array of powertrain options, including a fully-electric version.
Starting with the most obvious first, the third-generation Jeep Compass gets a more chiseled look while still keeping the signature Jeep design elements. Crafted by the brand's engineering teams in Turin, Italy, and the United States, Jeep says the all-new Compass strikes a balance between rugged off-road capability and practical daily use.
It gets a sleek set of LED headlights that are accompanied by the brand's signature seven-slot grille. It also gets generous black body cladding, squared wheel arches, stylish alloy wheels, a low-slung roof, and unique LED taillights that form one heck of a design.
Also worth mentioning in the all-new Jeep Compass are reinforced bumpers, shorter overhangs, and repositioned sensors/radar to keep them safe while going off-road. Last but not least, the Jeep Compass has a ground clearance of 200mm, a water fording depth of up to 470mm, an approach angle of 20 degrees, a breakover angle of 15 degrees, and a departure angle of 26 degrees.
Hop inside and the all-new Compass wows you with its redesigned cabin. It gets a pair of high-definition displays on the dashboard; one is the 10-inch instrument cluster, while the other is a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment display. On the center console, it has a Selec-Terrain button, a rotary-style gear selector, and generous storage bins & cubby holes. It's also available with leather upholstery with contrast stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and high-quality trim pieces on the dashboard.
When it comes to powertrain options, buyers of the all-new Compass are spoiled for choice. These are the 145 HP 48V Hybrid, the Hybrid Plug-in with 195 HP, and EV. The full EV version starts with the 213 HP FWD single electric motor and goes up to a hair-raising 375 HP thanks to an AWD setup.
More importantly, the Compass EV supports 160 kW fast-charging, which allows the battery to be recharged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes. An onboard 22 kW charger is also available for customers to use. Last but certainly not least, Jeep says the electric Compass can cover up to 650 km based on the WLTP cycle.
