All-new twin-turbo V8 Porsche Cayenne is more powerful, handles better, and looks sportier

Last year, Porsche Philippines distributor PGA Cars Inc. officially launched the all-new Cayenne. For its initial launch back in September 2023, the automaker first offered the regular Cayenne with a 3.0-liter turbo V6 along with the Cayenne S which has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.

Several months later in December, PGA Cars Inc. held the groundbreaking ceremony of its new 15-story Porsche Center Manila. Not only that but they also brought the Cayenne E-Hybrid which is powered by a 3.0-liter turbo V6 that's assisted by a plug-in hybrid system. It has a combined system output of 470 PS with 650 Nm of torque and can travel up to 90 km on pure electric power.

Then just a couple of weeks ago, the company revealed the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid which is now the brand's most powerful version of the crossover. With a plug-in hybrid 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, it delivers a whopping 739 PS with 950 Nm of torque and can travel for 82 km without using a single drop of fuel during EV mode. With plenty of choices for Porsche customers, PGA Cars Inc. has a Cayenne for every discerning buyer.

However, for those who still swear by internal combustion engines (ICEs) without the hybrid assist, there's another variant of the Cayenne that has yet to make its way here. Say hello to the 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS, the sportier version of the brand's popular luxury crossover. Serving as the middle ground for those who want more performance from their Cayenne without sacrificing practicality, it benefits from an improved twin-turbo V8 engine, a reworked suspension, and a sportier appearance.

Starting with the upgraded hardware, the new Cayenne GTS is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. While it may not be as powerful as Turbo E-Hybrid, it still makes an impressive 500 PS and 660 Nm of torque. This translates to an increase of 40 PS plus an extra 60 Nm of torque from the previous generation GTS. Paired with a quick-shifting 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox, the Cayenne GTS can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 275 km/h.

As mentioned earlier, the suspension of the Cayenne GTS was also given attention. It gets a two-chamber air suspension that has been tuned specifically for the GTS variant. Not only does it sit 10mm lower than regular Cayennes, but handling has also been improved thanks to an increased negative camber on the front wheels. It's also available with the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control along with the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus which is standard equipment.

Over to the design, the 2025 Cayenne GTS comes with black “GTS” lettering on the sides and rear while the front end features bigger cooling intakes. Both the LED headlights and taillights come with a dark tint finish while red brake calipers give the vehicle extra flair. Side skirts, front inlays, side window trims, and wheel arch extensions provide the Cayenne GTS with a sportier look. Additional exterior features include a sports exhaust system finished in Dark Bronze, trim accents finished in High-Gloss Black, and 21-inch RS Spyder wheels painted in Anthracite Gray.

Hop inside and the cabin features a heated GT sports steering wheel and is complemented by high-quality Race-Tex material. This suede-like material covers the roof lining, armrests, door panels, and the center panels of the 8-way power-adjustable sports seats. The side bolsters, meanwhile, have been raised further to offer more lateral support during cornering. Depending on customer preference, two GTS-specific interior packages are available – Carmine Red and Slate Gray for a more customized look.

When it comes to amenities, the 2025 Cayenne GTS is available with the following; a fixed panoramic glass roof, a Bose surround sound system, LED ambient lighting, a 12.6-inch curved digital instrument display, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, an optional 10.9-inch display for the front passenger, red seatbelts, red GTS logos embossed on the front headrests, and an optional lightweight roof to reduce overall weight.

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS is available in both standard and coupe body styles and deliveries will begin first in Europe later this year. That means we can expect the new Cayenne GTS to make its way here perhaps near the end of 2024 or by Q1 of next year.
