Hyundai Indonesia officially reveals refreshed 2025 Creta

After making its global debut in India last year, the facelifted 2025 Hyundai Creta has officially made its way to Southeast Asia. Its first stop is Indonesia where the automaker has a factory that serves not just its home country but also the rest of the ASEAN market. With that, we could expect Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc (HMPH) to launch the updated Creta soon.

But before we get ahead, let’s talk about the many changes Hyundai made for the 2025 Creta. First and foremost, the refreshed B-SUV gets a Palisade-inspired makeover thanks to the “Sensuous Sportiness” design language. This gives the 2025 Creta a boxier and more rugged appearance, complemented by a new set of LED daytime running lights, a more rectangular grille, and quad-beam headlights.

Hyundai also made significant changes to the rear. It gets a completely redesigned tailgate along with a new light-bar design for the LED taillights. The taillights themselves feature a full-width design that encompasses the entire rear, resulting in a more striking design.

In case customers want an even more stylish-looking Creta, Hyundai also has an N-Line trim which comes with exclusive exterior upgrades like a special bumper, bigger 18-inch alloy wheels (17-inch alloys are standard), and N-Line seats which differ from the regular upholstery.

Hop inside. Hyundai gave the 2025 Creta a once-over to make it more high-tech and ergonomic. For its latest update, Hyundai has integrated both the digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system into a single panel. This creates an almost panoramic display that is pleasing to the eyes and makes for a more cohesive look.

The new design, however, has also resulted in Hyundai repositioning the central aircon vents lower near the HVAC panel. Speaking of HVAC, the system is now available with dual-zone climate control on high-grade variants complete with physical buttons and knobs. Other key features include LED ambient lighting, full leather upholstery, red-colored accents for the N-Line, a power tailgate, ventilated front seats, and a Bose sound system.

Under the hood, the 2025 Creta is available with two powertrain options. First is the carried-over 1.5L Smartstream G four-cylinder engine that makes a humble 115 PS at 6300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. Power is then transferred to the front wheels via the brand’s IVT or Intelligent Variable Transmission.

Last but not least is the 1.5L Smartstrem Turbo GDi inline-four which doles out 160 PS at 5500 rpm and a generous 253 Nm of torque between 1500 - 3500 rpm. Instead of an IVT, the turbocharged version comes with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox that sends power to the front wheels.

As before, the Creta is available with the brand’s suite of intelligent driver aids called SmartSense. This gives the vehicle additional safety features like forward collision warning, smart cruise control with stop & go (AKA adaptive cruise control), blind-spot collision avoidance, a blind-spot monitor, and rear-cross traffic alert.

With the 2025 Hyundai Creta now in Southeast Asia, we can perhaps expect the updated B-SUV to make its way here later this year. The only question now is, could we see the 2025 Creta debut at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS?)
