DOE releases updated list of EVs, PHEVs, HEVs

Back at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, MG Philippines had one of the most comprehensive vehicle displays when they brought a total of 12 models to SMX Convention Center.

Six of those included previews of upcoming models. But just a few weeks after MIAS, it looks like MG Philippines is already working towards launching those said vehicles very soon.

The MG3 hatchback’s hybrid variant will be powered by a 1.5-liter, inline four cylinder engine assisted by an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The engine makes a decent 102 PS and 128 Nm of torque while the electric motor produces 136 PS and 250 Nm of torque. When combined, the MG3’s hybrid powertrain gives a total system output of 194 PS, which should be plenty for a car that belongs in the B-segment.

But more importantly, MG says the MG3 hatchback has the combination of performance and efficiency. The hybrid hatchback can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds, while fuel economy can go up to 23 km/l.

Apart from its stylish exterior, the MG3 offers modern interior amenities like digital screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, rotary style gear selectors, and a 360 camera in select variants.

With the MG3 hatchback getting the proper regulatory approval and government recognition, MG Philippines may already be in the final stages of product planning with the MG3 hatchback. The only question now is how much will the MG3 hybrid be when it comes out in the near future.
