All-new Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV lands in Thailand with PHP 20M price tag

It looks like the all-new Maserati GranTurismo is inching closer to arriving in the Philippines in the not-so-distant future. After making its debut in the Asia Pacific last year in Japan, the next-generation GranTurismo is already open for reservations in Thailand.

However, unlike in Japan where it was initially offered with just the twin-turbo V6, the all-electric Folgore is already being offered in The Land of Smiles. In fact, according to our friends over at headlightmag, the GranTurismo Folgore EV is available for an eye-watering THB 12.9 million which roughly equates to over PHP 20 million.

So what do you get from having to pay that kind of money? Well, for starters it gets three electric motors, a 92.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack derived from Formula E, and an 800V architecture. The result is a supercar-like performance that generates 761 PS along with a hefty 1,350 Nm of torque which allows the GranTurismo Folgore EV to sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. Top speed, on the other hand, is rated at 325 km/h.

On a full charge, Maserati claims their super EV can travel 455 km based on the WLTP cycle. Speaking of charging, the system supports AC charging up to 22 kW and DC charging up to 270 kW. And in case you’re in a hurry, the Folgore EV can be recharged in just 5 minutes and it will have around 100 km of range after being hooked up to a DC fast-charging system.

While some might say the Folgore EV looks just like any GranTurismo, Maserati was able to make the vehicle stand out with some subtle changes. The all-electric vehicle gets a smaller grille at the front along with Y-shaped 20-inch alloy wheels (21-inch at the back) which are exclusive only to the EV.

With the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV already having a price tag in Thailand, we won’t be surprised if the rest of the GranTurismo lineup makes their debut soon. Heck, we might see them in the metal at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show. But when can we expect the GranTurismo to arrive in the Philippines?

According to a well-placed source, the GranTurismo is set to arrive in the Philippines sometime in Q1 2024. That means it may arrive later this month or perhaps the next. Fingers crossed Maserati Philippines will offer all variants including the EV version.
