Philippine Army to acquire 117 Isuzu N-Series Troop Carrier Light Trucks
In the recent Isuzu Truck Fest, the leading truck brand in the country flexed the capabilities of its commercial vehicles and trucks in catering to various business needs.
They showcased everything from dump trucks to public utility vehicles, but what really stood out for us was the N-Series Troop Carrier concept that was built by local truck body fabrication company F. Cura Industries and FMC Trucks. Turns out, it’s been called for duty.

That’s right. The Philippine Army has released a Notice of Award to F. Cura Industries to supply our troops with 117 units of the Isuzu N-Series Troop Carrier Light Truck.
The troop carrier is based on the Isuzu N-Series 4x4 Light Truck but receives plenty of reinforcing steel plates to its chassis, subframe, and body panels for better protection and durability.
Powered by a 5.2-liter, four-cylinder turbo diesel, the N-Series Troop Carrier has a 100-liter fuel tank, a 5-speed manual transmission, and four-wheel-drive for better capability in the field. For equipment-carrying purposes, the front axle is rated to hold up to 2,800 kg while the rear is rated at 6,600 kg.

This upcoming acquisition aligns with the country’s Self Reliance Defense Posture Revitalization Act that boosts local defense industries while enhancing the military’s modernization efforts to bolster the country’s defense strategies. The Isuzu N-Series Troop Carrier will join the Kia KM450 and the GAZ Sadko in the Philippine Army’s fleet.
