Highlights of the adrenaline-filled weekend

The intense heat at the Clark International Speedway was met with intense racing action as Tuason Racing successfully held the 2024 Tuason Racing Raceday last weekend.

The event saw a record-breaking attendance of 150 supercar enthusiasts for the Supercar track day, while 1NZ and Formula V1 race cars were also in action to add to the exciting race weekend.

For this year’s edition of the Tuason Racing Raceday, the event was used to become a platform to support the children of the Mabuhay Deseret Foundation. The event proceeds from all merchandise sales went directly to aid the foundation and its advocacy.

In the Formula V1 grid, the race featured karting prodigies Danzel Waytan and Jesse Garcia from CRG-ERA Autosport, Will Lucas of Edgesport Racing Team, and Ethan Ong from Ethanworkx Racing Team. Alongside these young drivers are 2023 AM Class Champion Bryan Co of the MadKart racing team, Jaime Ramirez of Scudería Ramírez de Arellano, and Thomas Day, who came all the way from the UK to represent Ribbon Arc Racing Team.

Meanwhile, the 1NZ Cup featured the popular Yaris and Vios race cars that were classified based on their engine power and vehicle weight. For the 1NZ Cup grid race, Miguel Hernandez-Albano, Miguel Quiñones, and Katherine Villar dominated the Class 1 grid after consecutive podium finishes, while Jun Cabrera, Maila Alivia, Gel Napat, John Frederick Camus, and Gav Quintos secured their podium finishes both on Race 1 and Race 2 on their respective classes.

In the 1NZ Cup Time Attack, it was Autoindustriya.com’s very own Jamil Lacuna who topped the timesheets, ahead of 14-year-old Sim Racing driver Enzo Ison and Paulo Medina of HG Autoworks and Atom Tech films.
