Toyota to compete under Toyota Racing name in WEC

Toyota’s performance division is now simply called Gazoo Racing. But for its European research and development center and subsidiary called Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe GmbH, it’s the Gazoo that has been dropped.

With the announcement of its rebranding, Toyota’s works team that competes in the 24 Hours of Le Mans will now be called Toyota Racing. Along with it, the new Toyota Racing team has revealed its 2026 challenger, which is now aptly called the TR010 Hybrid.

Basically, it’s an improved version of the GR010 Hybrid that won the 2021 and 2022 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Toyota Racing is yet to reveal technical details about the new car, but a number of changes can already be spotted based on the images.

The front of the TR010 Hybrid has been redesigned and now aligns to the “Hammerhead” style front fascia seen in the likes of the Prius and Camry. Likewise, the rear wing looks to have been revised, but the most striking change for 2026 is Toyota’s revival of the iconic GT-One livery for the TR010 Hybrid.

Toyota previously did this special livery for the 2025 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but now under the Toyota Racing banner, the Japanese manufacturer is intent on using the signature red and white colors of the GT-One throughout the 2026 season of the World Endurance Championship.

The same driver lineup will be onboard the #7 and #8 TR010 Hybrids, as Toyota opted for continuity. Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries will stay together in the #7, while Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa will have their fifth season at the wheel of the #8.
