John Wick goes racing in a GR86

John Wick has traded in his weapons for a pair of driving gloves, a helmet, and a Toyota GR86 one-make race car.

Hollywood star Keanu Reeves will be competing at the North American Toyota GR Cup at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. The announcement was made on his Instagram account, and will be driving for the Eagle Canyon Racing Team.

The GR Cup is similar to the format of the TGR Philippine Cup that uses identical cars. But instead of a Vios, the GR Cup in the US has multiple GR86 race cars racing against each other.

The GR86 cup car that Reeves will drive is fitted with a roll cage, a 22-gallon fuel cell, a 6-speed SADEV sequential gearbox, Borla exhaust, JRI adjustable dampers, Alcon brakes, and a carbon fiber wing.

It’s not the first time for Reeves to be behind the wheel of a Toyota, as Reeves beat other celebrities in the Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix back in 2009 driving a Scion tC front-wheel-drive coupe. Reeves is known to be a talented driver himself, as he reportedly did most of the driving stunts in his movies especially in the John Wick franchise.

Let’s see how his skills stack up against more accomplished drivers this time.
