2023 Toyota GR Vios Cup finale to have Grand Prix format this weekend

Final race will have 1.5 hours of non-stop action

There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the final leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup 2023. The title is still up for grabs in both the Circuit and Autocross Championships. And to spice things up, a new format will be introduced for the final race along with a drifting exhibition as a crowd attraction.

Toyota Motor Philippines has announced the final race of the TGR Vios Cup will feature a Grand Prix format. Instead of the usual 30-minute sprint race, the highlight of the final leg will see Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional class drivers racing for 1.5 hours.

There's also a mandatory pitstop, so strategy will play a big part in determining the outcome of the race. Along with the new Grand Prix format, double points will be awarded to raise the stakes higher for the final leg.

Before the circuit action starts, however, there will be a drift exhibition featuring Ryan Agoncillo, Luis Gono, and Alex Perez to get the crowd's adrenaline pumped up.

Meanwhile, crowd favorites Macoy Dubs, Megan Young, and Benedict Cua will return behind the wheel of a Vios Cup race car as they bring excitement and competition to the Autocross Challenge. They will be joined by a diverse mix of racers comprised of Ezra Domingo, Genesis Redido, Apple David, Arianne Bautista, Reph Bangsil, Miggy Romulo, Bianca Yao, Carla Lizardo and Lexi Mendiola.

Speaking of Autocross, TGR Vios Cup Media Class champions are also returning to action for the final leg. AutoIndustriya's own Jamil Lacuna will participate in an exhibition with Pablo Salapantan and Jose Altoveros driving the Corolla Altis Hybrid Electric Racer.

People can also check out the GR-S lineup featuring Fortuner GR-S and Rush GR-S, which will be displayed in the TGR Vios Cup 2023 activity area. Sponsors also prepared different games and activities for the audience to enjoy.

To wrap off the heart-pumping cheer, up-and-coming indie band Sunkissed Lola will perform and set the mood for the racers and the crowd at the speedway.

The final leg of the 2023 TGR Vios Cup will happen on November 11 at the Clark International Speedway. The TGR Vios Cup is organized in cooperation with Bridgestone and Petron. This event is also supported by Denso, AVT, 3M, ROTA, Tuason Racing, Kinto, and myToyota wallet.
