2024 edition will have 62 cars on the grid
The 92nd running of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans is just around the corner, and boy if you see the sheer number of cars, the competing manufacturers, and the participating drivers for this year, the 2024 edition of the Le Mans 24 could well and truly be called the all-star game of motorsport.

The World Endurance Championship has released the entry list for this year’s running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The grid will feature a total of 62 cars on the grid with 23 hypercars, 16 LMP2 race cars, and 23 from the LMGT3 class.

In the hypercar class, brands such as Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Peugeot, and Toyota will have former Formula One drivers getting behind the wheel of their hybrid race cars. These include 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button, Mick Schumacher, Romain Grosjean, Robert Kubica, Antonio Giovinazzi, Nyck De Vries, Stoffel Vandoorne, Paul Di Resta, Sebastien Bourdais, Sebastien Buemi, Kamui Kobayashi, Jean-Eric Vergne, and Will Stevens.
For the LMP2 class, the category will feature 16 examples of the Oreca 07 Gibson LMP2 race car fielded by teams such as Zak Brown’s United Autosports, Proton Competition, and AF Corse.

The new-for-2024 LMGT3 class features a healthy dose of manufacturer involvement, with brands such as Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, GM, Lamborghini, Lexus, McLaren, and Porsche having GT3 versions of their most popular sports cars racing at the Circuit de la Sarthe. The most notable driver in this class is MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, who will be behind the wheel of his signature #46 BMW M4 GT3 run by Team WRT.
However, unlike last year, the NASCAR Cup Series Camaro ZL1 under Garage 56 entry won’t be joining the Le Mans grid. But still, the 62-car grid will be one to watch out for since competition is very close, especially amongst the top-class hypercars.
The 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours will take place on June 15-16.
