Pinoymini celebrates half a century of MINI

Local MINI enthusiast group Pinoymini.com recently held a get-together composed of a total of 117 cars from different eras to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MINI marque at the Frontera Verde Tiendesitas. Miniature MINIs were also displayed at the event featuring the collection of member 'Binimini'. This is so far the largest turnout of MINI cars in the country by the relatively young group which is a little over a year old.

Aside from the car display, the event also featured some talks about the history of the marque and the club, tech talks, and the introduction of BMW Mini. There were also videos, presentations, and a mini film showing of the cult movie Italian Job. To further excite the warm-blooded primarily male members of the club, Playboy Philippines cover girls and Playmates also attended the event to do an autograph signing and photo sessions with members.

The Pinoymini.com forum was co-founded in 2008 by Clifford Certeza and Yeyey Yatco to unite the different groups of MINI enthusiasts in the country. It was started to benefit all Mini owners and Mini lovers. It is also a forum for the sharing and exchange of information and resources for the Pinoy Mini Community. The forum currently has more than 350 members to date and will surely grow in numbers as the first local MINI dealership will be opening soon at the Bonifacio Global City.

Aside from information exchange, the group also gets together for weekend drives to give their MINIs regular exercise as well as foster camaraderie among members. The event is the biggest event the group has organized yet and we'll surely see more things to come from them.
