PHP 2.35 million can get you the Volvo EX30 Core RWD Pure Electric
Volvo Philippines distributor Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. has just expanded the model lineup of the EX30 EV.
That's right, the EV that won the 2024 World Urban Car award at last year's World Car Awards is now available at a more affordable price thanks to a new entry-level variant. Called the EX30 Core RWD, it gets a smaller battery pack than the top-of-the-line EX30 Ultra RWD Extended Range, but still comes with plenty of standard features and amenities.
Instead of having the 69 kWh battery pack, the EX30 Core RWD comes with the smaller 51 kWh battery pack. This gives the entry-level EX30 a range of up to 344 km based on the WLTP cycle, which is slightly lower than the EX30 Ultra's 540 km range.
Despite the smaller battery, the EX30 Core gets the same rear electric motor that puts out 272 PS and 343 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and is capable of averaging 17.5 kWh per 100 kilometers, which is equivalent to 1.97 liters per 100 kilometers.
Like all Volvos, the EX30 comes with intelligent driver aids and safety features. It comes with Pilot Assist as standard, which intelligently manages speed and distance while providing steering assistance. This works in conjunction with Driver Attention Monitoring, analyzing driving behavior to detect fatigue or reduced focus and issuing timely alerts. Last but not least is the Collision Avoidance System, which provides audio and visual warnings, brake pulse alerts, and can even initiate automatic braking or steering to help mitigate potential impacts.

Open the doors, and the EX30 offers a sophisticated and serene experience. Its nature-inspired interior themes are crafted with renewable materials, highlighted by ambient lighting with five Scandinavian-inspired modes. It also gets an immersive Harman Kardon sound system and an advanced climate control system that ensures a fresh and comfortable cabin.
Those who need to store plenty of items in the EX30 will also be happy to know the EV has plenty in-store. It comes with a 61-liter underfloor storage area, 318 liters of luggage space with the rear seats deployed, and up to 904 liters of cargo space when the rear seats are folded.
“The Volvo EX30 is a clear manifestation of our dedication to innovation, safety, and sustainability. "Its impressive array of awards and top-tier safety rating underscore our commitment to providing a vehicle that not only excites but also protects and respects our planet. The EX30 truly represents the future of mobility, available today,” said Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, vice chairman, president & CEO of Hariphil Asia Resources Inc.
Pricing of the Volvo EX30 is as follows:
EX30 Core RWD Pure Electric – PHP 2,350,000
EX30 Ultra RWD Extended Range Pure Electric – PHP 2,690,000
