Toyota Indonesia proved that the Veloz MPV can go the distance in various road conditions

Last year, Toyota Astra Motor Indonesia previewed the Veloz HEV, which signals the MPV getting an electrified powertrain in the future. While not yet officially launched in Indonesia, the automaker has been accepting reservations for the new Veloz HEV, which will be available in Q and V variants.

With the electrified MPV already slated to be launched in Indonesia, we’re hoping Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) brings it here in the future.

Now, Toyota Astra Motor Indonesia has given interested customers a good reason to place an order before its official launch. The Veloz HEV just proved it can go the distance and is reliable in every type of road conditions after the automaker completed 7,000 km across various road terrains in Indonesia in the Veloz HEV and was driven for more than 45 days without a break.

The Veloz HEV started its journey from the Mandalika Circuit in Lombok last December 2, 2025, and continued to various provinces, including Bali, East Java, Central Java, West Java, DKI, Jakarta, Banten, Southern Sumatra, Riau, West Sumatra, and lastly in Medan, North Sumatra.

The routes the Velos HEV took consisted of winding, uneven congest roads, as well as uphill and mountainous passes. While they proved to be a challenge, the Veloz HEV proved its toughness and consistent performance throughout the journey. Moreover, it also emphasized Toyota’s efforts in making hybrid technology that is reliable, comfortable, and inclusive for all of everyone’s needs.

During the trip, the Veloz HEV also visited several authorized Toyota dealerships across various cities. At each stop, the electrified MPV was checked to ensure it remained in good condition.

Toyota will officially launch the Veloz HEV at the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in Jakarta from February 5 to 15.

Hopefully, TMP decides to bring the Veloz HEV into the country as demand for hybrids continues to grow in the Philippines.
