Toyota gives Hiace power bump with 3.0L turbo-diesel engines for 2016

The Hiace gets a considerable boost in power after Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP) recently launched the 3.0-liter models of the van.

The bigger engine replaces the 2.5-liter 2KD-FTV, which produced 102 PS at 3600 rpm and 260 Nm of torque at 1600 – 2400 rpm.

Derived from the previous generation Hilux/Fortuner, the 3.0-liter 1KD-FTV (163 PS/343 Nm) turbo-diesel has been detuned for the people carrier. It now delivers 136 PS at 3400 rpm, along with a torque pull of 300 Nm at 1200 – 2400 rpm.

The new engine is now available in all variants of the Hiace; from the base Commuter, to the high-end LXV
