San Miguel Corporation to have toll holiday its tollways for motorists on Christmas, New Year's Eve

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is keeping its holiday tradition alive, announcing that it will once again waive toll fees across its entire expressway network for 2025 Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

The "toll holiday" is designed to provide some relief for motorists traveling late at night to reach their families during the festive season.

Free Passage Schedule

Motorists can enjoy free passage on Christmas from 10:00 PM on December 24 until 6:00 AM on December 25, 2025 and New Year from 10:00 PM on December 31 until 6:00 AM on January 1, 2026.

Covered Expressways

The waiver applies to all tollways operated by San Miguel Corporation, including: Skyway System (including Skyway Stage 3), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), STAR Tollway, and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX)

Heightened Alert for Holiday Rush

Anticipating a surge in vehicle volume, SMC Infrastructure has placed its safety and security personnel on heightened alert. Additional patrol teams and emergency response units were deployed starting December 20 to manage critical chokepoints and clear road obstructions.

To further ensure smooth traffic flow, the company has suspended all roadworks on its expressways from December 20 until January 4, 2026. Traffic monitoring centers will remain staffed 24/7 to coordinate with local government units and emergency responders.

Travel Reminders

While the toll is free during specific windows, SMC advises motorists to Plan ahead: Allot extra travel time as heavy traffic is expected leading up to the holiday hours. Check RFID Balance: Ensure your Autosweep account has sufficient balance for trips taken outside the free-toll window to avoid delays at the plazas. Motorists are likewise reminded to follow traffic rules and drive responsibly.
