Bisimoto-tuned Tucson puts out more than 700 PS
Having just release the all-new Tucson in the Philippines, Hyundai turns around the teases fans of the brand with what they call ‘the most-powerful 2016 Tucson ever created’ in partnership with powertrain company Bisimoto Engineering for the upcoming 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA).
The hyper-tuned Tucson uses Hyundai’s 2.4-liter Theta-II engine but with ‘strengthened internals’ that uses fast-burning flex-fuel, a high-boost turbo and an upgraded engine management system to be able to send more than 700 PS to its six-speed manual transmission.
“The 2016 Tucson was the perfect platform for this year’s build, offering me the opportunity to captivate a wider audience by tapping into the growing popularity of the CUV market. After hundreds of hours of testing and developing new engine components, we’re confident that this power plant can handle what we’re asking from it, delivering a fresh, race-bred take on the 2016 Tucson with performance and reliability at its core,” said Bisi Ezerioha, owner and chief engineer, Bisimoto Engineering.
The Tucson’s exterior also gets refreshed with a ‘street fighter’ look using custom air-ride suspension, white five-star race-spec wheels and sticky, R-compound rubber. It will also use a custom roll cage and will sport the signature Bisimoto look with the replacement of the front grille with a huge intercooler.
