Sayonara: Suzuki bids farewell to third-gen Swift Sport with Final Edition

Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition is going out with a bang

If there's one hatchback we wish Suzuki Philippines Inc. brought to the country, it's the Swift Sport. Essentially the high-performance version of the regular Swift, it comes with a 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine dubbed BoosterJet which makes 140 PS with 230 Nm of torque. While it may not be much, the Swift Sport tips the scales of just over 990 kg and is paired with a slick-shifting 6-speed manual gearbox.

Combined with a lowered ride height, better suspension, and sportier looks, the Swift Sport is a worthy upgrade from the regular Swift. Unfortunately, the third generation Swift Sport (codenamed ZC33S) is going away soon so the Philippines continues to be one of the markets not to get their hands on such a hatchback. But you're mistaken if you think the Swift Sport is going away quietly.

Suzuki recently revealed the Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition as a special way to send off the hot hatchback. Exclusively available only in the Japanese market, the sporty hatchback gets exclusive upgrades inside and out along with some neat touches that will only be available in the Final Edition.

For starters, it gets 17-inch black alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and a black “Sport” tailgate emblem. It also gets new decals on the C-pillars that show the hatchback's internal name “ZC33S” as a reminder that this is no ordinary Suzuki.

Hop inside and Suzuki was also busy applying subtle but distinct changes in the cabin. The hatchback now comes with aluminum-style accents on the door cards, dashboard, and center transmission tunnel complete with a “heat gradation” effect which is something you would also see on a titanium exhaust. In addition, the dashboard trim features a “Sport” decal while the transmission tunnel gets a “ZC33S powered by Suzuki” graphic.

Other standard features like the red contrast stitching, sport bucket seats, aluminum pedals, and red accents throughout the interior have been carried over to the Final Edition.

Under the hood, the Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition continues to be powered by the 1.4L K14C Boosterjet turbocharged inline-four. It generates 140 PS at 5500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque between 2500 – 3500 rpm. As mentioned earlier, the engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox that drives the front wheels.

Production of the Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition will take place between March and November 2025. That means interested customers will have plenty of time to get one before it's consigned to the history books.

Perhaps the only question now is, can we expect Suzuki to make a brand-new Swift Sport based on the latest fourth-generation hatchback? And could we finally see the automaker bring several examples here to the country?
