Upcoming 2025 Kia Tasman teased with new pictures

Remember when Kia gave us a glimpse of their upcoming pickup truck called the Tasman? At the time, they only showed the pickup truck with a brightly-colored camo livery to hide its overall looks. Still, we managed to see that it will have a boxy exterior along with a front fascia that appears to have been inspired by the Telluride full-size SUV.

Fast forward to the end of 2024, and Kia is finally ready to reveal the Tasman pickup truck. In fact, Kia recently released new teaser images of the Tasman which is set to make its global debut at the 2024 Jeddah International Motor Show.

Featuring a robust and solid silhouette, the upcoming Kia Tasman pickup truck looks imposing thanks to its huge size and distinct shape. The automaker claims that customers will be able to maximize the Tasman's utility and dependability across any terrain and will be able to cater to different lifestyles.

Starting with its looks, the Tasman will have a humongous grille, a prominent hood, chunky fenders, and what appear to be massive alloy wheels. It also has a generous bed in the back along with a tailgate that spells out the Kia Tasman name for all to see. Also worth mentioning are the Tasman's eye-catching LED headlights.

Kia has yet to state its drivetrain and powertrain specifications. However, they did say that the Tasman will leverage Kia's 50 years of developing special-purpose vehicles, including off-roaders. In addition, the Tasman will inherit the intelligent all-terrain technology of the Kia Telluride. That means we can expect Kia's pickup truck to come with an active on-demand AWD system that can automatically distribute torque between the front & rear axles.

As far as the powertrain is concerned, they did say that it will be available with a turbo-diesel engine. More than likely the Tasman may come with the 2.2L Smartstream turbo-diesel inline-four that is available across various Kia nameplates like the Carnival and Sorento. However, we also won't be surprised if it will be offered with a 3.8L direct injection V6 that is also seeing use in the Telluride SUV.

Even before its upcoming debut, Kia shared that the Tasman was subject to a rigorous and extensive testing/development process which will ensure its durability, reliability, and dependability no matter the terrain or road conditions. In fact, the automaker shared that it underwent 1,777 specific tests which were conducted over more than 18,000 cycles of evaluation.

The Kia Tasman will be making its official debut on October 29 at this year's Jeddah International Motor Show in Saudi Arabia.
