San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora looking forward to reviving Greenhills car culture
AutoIndustriya.com, the country’s longest-running automotive website, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a car week celebration in Greenhills. The festivities featured the Autoindustriya XXV 25th Anniversary Auto Fest, showcasing the latest vehicles from partner brands such as BAIC, BYD, GWM, Lynk&Co, Toyota, and the multibrand dealership network of Gateway Group, which featured Mitsubishi and Suzuki.
Part of the week-long celebration included the exclusive Titans of Manila gathering and the Open Car Meet held over the weekend. Car clubs and enthusiasts filled the venue for both separate events, bringing together a variety of vehicles that rekindled the strong community spirit that has been at the heart of AutoIndustriya since its early days. It is this spirit that AutoIndustriya honors Greenhills’ historic influence on local car culture and its role in inspiring generations of Filipino car enthusiasts.
No less than the Honorable Mayor of San Juan City, Francis Zamora, graced the opening of AutoIndustriya.com's 25th anniversary celebration with his presence and support, delivering heartfelt congratulatory remarks. Reminiscing about his younger days, he fondly recalled spending weekends with friends at “Creekside,” which was the popular hang-out spot for any car enthusiast. He even shared a nostalgic story about the car that he was using, a well-worn hand-me-down that had already racked up over 90,000 kilometers. Most notably, Mayor Zamora expressed a sincere desire to revive the vibrant car culture that once thrived in Greenhills.
“Let’s see how we can revive it and as you open your car week it lets me reminisce my younger years, because sa Greenhills talaga nanggagaling young mga mahilig sa kotse at marami kang magiging kaibigan. I congratulate you, and please plan for more events like these and trust that your event will be safe and secure, as San Juan City has the lowest crime volume in Metro Manila and is also drug-free.” Says the Honorable Mayor of San Juan City.
Given the strong turnout and the overall success of the AutoIndustriya XXV Car Week anniversary event, it sets a great example on how to properly organize a car meet and should open the door for more car-related activities to thrive. However, it wouldn't have been possible without the support of the San Juan City Government and Greenhills Mall, whose combined efforts play a crucial role in reviving local car culture. By providing a safe and organized venue, they’re helping create a space where car enthusiasts can gather responsibly and celebrate their passion.
Mayor Zamora however, reminded car enthusiasts to enjoy their cars responsibly and follow traffic rules and regulations.
