A Frozen Blue Metallic Macan 4 is Porsche’s 1-millionth Macan

It was back in 2013 when the first-ever Porsche Macan rolled off the factory line at the brand’s Leipzig facility. Since then, the compact performance crossover from Stuttgart has achieved great popularity worldwide as the (smaller) sibling to the bigger Cayenne.

Fast forward to 2025, Porsche is proud to announce that they have produced a million Macans. That’s right, after rolling out the first-ever Macan twelve years ago, the Stuttgart-based automaker has achieved a production milestone for its compact crossover.

“The Macan is inseparably linked to Leipzig. The model represents growth and change like no other. It symbolizes both the expansion of the site into a full factory between 2011 and 2013, and the start of the plant’s entry into the era of electromobility,” said Gerd Rupp, Chairman of the Management Board of Porsche Leipzig GmbH.

The milestone anniversary vehicle is a Macan 4 EV that’s finished in a striking hue called Frozen Blue Metallic. It’s capable of cranking out 300 kW or 408 PS thanks to a pair of electric motors, which allows it to sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of up to 220 km/h, without a drop of fuel. With a 100 kWh battery pack, Porsche says the Macan 4 can travel up to 612 km on a single charge. It also supports 800V DC fast-charging, which enables it to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes.

Beyond that, the Frozen Blue Metallic Macan 4 comes with a heated GT Sports leather steering wheel, adaptive sport seats, a two-tone leather interior, a heads-up display with augmented reality, and a panoramic sunroof.

The 1 millionth Macan was recently handed over to its owner, Stefan Schmidt from Kiel, Germany, at the Porsche Experience Center Leipzig. For Schmidt, the Macan is a thrilling vehicle thanks to its sporty features. Factory collection of new cars in Leipzig includes a test drive on the factory’s racetrack in an identical model. Here, customers can get to know their new vehicle under the expert guidance of an instructor and experience how it behaves at the limit.

“I find the Macan thrilling because of its sporty features combined with its everyday usability. Collecting the car from the factory here in Leipzig, as well as experiencing the track with its corners based on those from other famous circuits, are definitely highlights. Today I truly felt the passion of the Porsche brand up close,” said Schmidt.

With the second-generation Macan paving the way for Porsche to make 1 million units of the nameplate, expect more of Porsche’s stylish compact crossover to make their way onto the open road.
