NLEX Corp. expedites repair of Marilao Bridge
Motorists traveling along the northbound lanes of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will be able to travel at a faster pace once more.
This comes after NLEX Corporation recently announced that they have completed work on the major structural repairs on the Marilao Bridge Interchange as of midnight on June 23, 2025. As a result, all four lanes of the NLEX Marilao Northbound section of the expressway are now passable to all motorists.
The company was able to expedite repair works on the damaged infrastructure after a truck violating height limitations struck the bridge last week. The incident resulted in a girder falling off the bridge and hitting another vehicle, injuring several people, including a two-year-old, and one fatality.

NLEX Corporation wishes to thank the public for their understanding and patience during the repair period, which caused a buildup of traffic along the expressway.
This is not the first time the bridge was damaged, as just three months ago, a similar incident happened on the expressway. Not only did it result in heavy traffic in the area, but the Department of Transportation (DOTr) ordered NLEX Corporation to waive toll fees from the Balintawak to Meycauayan sections. In fact, the tollway operator was ordered yet again to impose a toll holiday last weekend while repairs were ongoing.
In light of the recent incidents, NLEX Corporation has offered to build a new Marilao Bridge to replace the current one, which has a vertical clearance of 4.27 meters in both directions. It's not part of the NLEX Concession, but the tollway company conducts necessary repairs on the bridge to ensure its structural integrity for the safety of NLEX motorists.
