Nissan, Tamiya used mini 4WDs to teach children about EV benefits

Nissan and Tamiya have found an uncanny way to teach youngsters about EVs while having fun in class.

The two companies have collaborated to hold a special class called “Nakano Electrification School” at the Nitobe Bunka Elementary School in Nakano Ward, Tokyo Japan.

The special class was participated by 60 fourth-graders, with people from Nissan and Tamiya serving as lecturers to teach the benefits of BEVs (battery electric vehicles) to the society, particularly its V2X (vehicle to everything) function.

The young students were taught how to assemble a Tamiya mini 4WD on the first day, and were free to express their creativity in decorating their own units. Afterwards, the students strategically put their mini 4WDs on critical areas of a miniature city, where they think electricity is much needed during a power outage.

Lastly, the students were tasked to create new places for relaxation and recreation in the city. The suggestions included game centers, shopping districts, and parks that have their electricity powered by BEVs.

Nissan and Tamiya thinks children will be future BEV owners, so they created an opportunity for them to experience the benefits of BEVs in a fun and informative way. Should more manufacturers and countries follow this initiative to promote the use of EVs? Let us know in the comments.
