NPI plans to double Patrol sales in FY2024
If you haven’t noticed, the current-generation Nissan Patrol is becoming a more common sight on our roads, and Nissan Philippines has the numbers to back it up.

The brand claims they have sold over 500 units of their flagship SUV as they close fiscal year 2023; yes, it's still 2023 right now for many Japanese automakers as a fiscal/financial year runs from April to March of the following year. While it’s still based on the Y62-generation model that has been around since 2010, the Patrol has received its most recent update back in 2021.

The news comes directly from Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) president Juan Manuel Hoyos during the recently concluded drive event up north. The company really fought to get the supply of units from Japan to serve local demand.
As you may well be aware, luxury 4x4 SUVs are very popular in the Philippines as evidenced by demand for the Patrol's primary rival: the Land Cruiser 300 from Toyota. And while unit supplies are still quite limited from Toyota, Nissan wants to make sure they have got the units to serve.
What's more is that they want to double down for FY2024: they want to sell 1,000 units of their premier SUV.

Can they do it? Well at its current price of PHP 4,758,000, the Patrol is proving to be an attractive full-size SUV as it significantly undercuts the Land Cruiser 300. And given that Nissan has sorted out their supply issues, Nissan Patrol units look to be an easier find for customers.
The Patrol remains powered by the naturally aspirated 5.6-liter V8 with VVEL. It produces 405 PS and 560 Nm mated to a 7-speed automatic with four-wheel drive as standard. The 4x4 system on the Patrol features an LSD, an electronic locking rear diff, and a terrain management system that can be switched to optimal settings for pavement, sand, rock, and even snow.
Can Nissan double their sales in 2024? If the units of the Patrol keep coming while the other alternatives are being withheld, we're quite certain Nissan has got a good shot at it. For now, you can check out our review of the Nissan Patrol on this link.
