Last year, we received insider info that Mitsubishi will launch a rebadged version of the Nissan NV350 Urvan in the Philippines. While no exact specifications were revealed, it surely got us curious as to what the rebadged Nissan NV350 will be called by Mitsubishi. At the time, however, neither Nissan nor Mitsubishi officially confirmed the van project.

Fast forward to May 2025, Nissan has officially confirmed that they will indeed be partnering with Mitsubishi for a van for the Philippine market. This was shared by newly-appointed Nissan president & CEO Ivan Espinosa during the brand's financial report for the fiscal year 2024.

Based on the presentation, Nissan will work with Mitsubishi Motors for an “OEM-out” van specifically for the Philippine market. It's also due to be out sometime in 2025, which means it might not be long before we get to see the Nissan-Mitsubishi van.

Other details about the upcoming van remain a mystery. However, based on what we've gathered before, Nissan will supposedly supply Mitsubishi units of the NV350 Urvan, which will then be rebadged by Mitsubishi Motors. Since Nissan already rebadges the Xpander as the Livina, it comes as no surprise that Mitsubishi went with Nissan to possibly badge-engineer the NV350 Urvan.

The 2.4L Mitsubishi 4N16 turbo-diesel

Powertrain specs are not yet available, although in Japan, the Nissan NV350 is already powered by Mitsubishi's 2.4L 4N16 turbo-diesel that makes 132 PS with 370 Nm of torque. Available transmissions include a new 7-speed automatic, which replaces the older 5-speed automatic unit.

With Nissan confirming their van partnership with Mitsubishi, we'll be keeping a close eye on future developments and possible leaks.
