New 2-km segment of CAVITEX-C5 Link now open to motorists
Motorists traveling between the cities of Paranaque and Taguig can now use the newly opened 3B segment of the CAVITEX-C5 Link. This comes after President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr. led the inspection and opening of the new segment of the toll road.
The President said that the opening of the new portion of CAVITEX-C5 Link comes at a timely manner when fuel prices are at an all-time high. The Chief Executive added that travel time between Paranaque Merville and Taguig will be cut to just 15 minutes. More importantly, the President said that the new segment will be toll-free until the end of April to ease the burden of motorists.

“Malaking bagay ito kasi ma-decongest ‘yung mga maliliit na kalsada dahil dito na dadaan [sa expressway]. At yung biyahe na dati isang oras kalahati, magiging 15 minutes na lang. Napakalaking bagay niyan dahil sa savings sa oras ng komyuter,” said Marcos.
[This is a big deal because it will decongest the small roads because of the expressway. And the trip that used to take an hour and a half will now take just 15 minutes. That is a big deal because of the savings in commuting time]

Meanwhile, vehicular congestion will also be reduced in the Kaingin area and will provide motorists with a more seamless connection from Cavite to C5 Taguig (and vice versa). Moreover, it will provide direction connection to Sucat and Merville in Paranaque, according to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Banoy Lopez.
“Ito po ‘yung pinaka-importante—‘yung dalawang kilometro [ng expressway] na sinasabi natin. Kasi nga sabi ni Sec. Vince (Dizon), Parañaque to Taguig umaabot ng 1.5 hours to 2 hours. ‘yun ay kapag maswerte ka pa, walang traffic. Imagine mo, 15 minutes lang ngayon [ang biyahe],” shared Lopez.

[This is the most important thing—the two kilometers [of the expressway] that we are talking about. Because Sec. Vince (Dizon) said that Paranaque to Taguig takes 1.5 hours to 2 hours, that is, if you are lucky and there is no traffic. Imagine it is only 15 minutes now [the trip]]
Once fully completed, the entire 7.7-kilometer CAVITEX-C5 Link will provide efficient access to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and C5 via interchanges at the R1 Expressway (Coastal Road), Sucat Road (Dr. A Santos Avenue), and C.P. Garcia Avenue (C5 Road). It's projected to serve around 36,000 motorists daily.
